Economic Calendarand Scenario Desk.

An economic calendar for forex tells you when the market-moving events happen. The Economic Calendar in Prime Terminal adds the size of the surprise the moment a number prints, and the Scenario Desk adds a prepared plan for every major release.

Together they turn "something happens at 13:30" into "here is what I do at 13:30".

What the calendar shows

Every release with time, currency, impact, forecast, prior and actual. When the number prints, you see immediately whether it was a beat or a miss, and by how much.

What the Scenario Desk adds

For the big events it lays out 3 outcomes, above, in line and below expectations, with the likely reaction per market. You add 1 line of your own plan to each outcome before the release.

Use it in real trading

The tool informs the decision, it never makes it. Here is how it plays out on real trading days.

1
Prepared

US retail sales at 13:30. Your plan: above 0.6% you look for EURUSD shorts, below 0.2% you stay out because it fights your bias.

2
Surprise

The number is in line but EURUSD still drops. The Realtime Headlines show a Fed speaker at the same minute. You now know why.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Only checking the time, not the forecast.
  • Having no plan for the in-line outcome.
  • Forgetting revisions to last month.

What makes it different

The scenarios are prepared by our team before each major release, so you walk in with a plan instead of a guess.
