Sunday market analysis:plan your trading week.
A weekly forex analysis on Sunday does 1 job: it turns every market you could trade into a short list you will actually trade. Traders who skip it spend the week chasing whatever moves first.
Here is the Sunday routine we teach. It works like a funnel: start wide, remove markets step by step, and finish with 3 candidates and a written plan for each.
Step 1: the big picture
Read the Week Ahead and the latest Macro Briefing. What is the main theme right now: inflation, growth worries, a central bank shift? Write the theme in 1 sentence. Every market you pick later should fit it.
Step 2: filter with the Overview List
Sort the Overview List by bias. Keep only the markets with a clear bullish or bearish verdict where the Smart Bias Tracker and the research view agree. Neutral markets leave the list.
Step 3: check the calendar
Open the Economic Calendar for the week. Which of your remaining markets has a catalyst: a central bank meeting, CPI, jobs data? A bias without a catalyst can take weeks to play out.
Step 4: write the plan
For your final 3, write down the bias, the reason, the catalyst and the level where your idea is wrong. Mark the levels on the chart. On Monday morning, the 3-minute routine only has to confirm that nothing changed.
Use it in real trading
The tool informs the decision, it never makes it. Here is how it plays out on real trading days.
The theme is "US inflation cooling". Your list ends with EURUSD long, gold long and USDJPY short, all with bullish or bearish verdicts that fit the theme and a US release midweek.
Gold has a bullish verdict, but the theme is a stronger dollar. It stays off the list until the conflict is resolved.
Only 1 market survives the funnel. That is fine. A week with 1 good idea beats a week with 6 average ones.
Mistakes to avoid
- Adding markets because they moved a lot last week.
- Keeping neutral markets "just in case".
- Writing the plan without a level where the idea is wrong.
What makes it different
The Week Ahead, the Smart Bias verdicts and the research view are prepared by our team, so your Sunday is about deciding, not collecting data from 12 tabs.
Questions
How long does the Sunday analysis take?
Most traders need 20 to 40 minutes. It gets faster once the routine is a habit.
Why only 3 markets?
Because you can follow 3 markets properly through a week. With 10 you follow none of them properly.
Do I redo it during the week?
No. The daily 3-minute routine checks whether anything changed. You only rebuild the plan if the theme breaks.
